Siyasal İletişim Unsuru Olarak Sosyal Medya Kullanımı: 31 Mart 2019 Yerel Seçimlerinde Isparta Belediye Başkan Adaylarının twitter Hesaplarının İncelenmesi

Tarihsel süreç boyunca siyasal iletişim ve kampanya yöntemleri sürekli olarak değişkenlik göstermiştir. Siyasal aktörler etkili bir siyasal pazarlama yürütmek için değişikliklere sürekli olarak ayak uydurmak zorunda kalmış ve kitlelerin dikkatlerini kendilerinde toplamaya çaba sarf etmişlerdir. Bu çalışma da siyasal iletişim aracı olarak sosyal medya kullanımı ve etkilerini ölçmeye yönelik olmaktadır. Bu kapsamda çalışmanın amacı, siyasi partilerin ve adaylarının siyasal kampanyalarını, siyasal kampanya yöntemlerini ve iletişimlerinin hangi aşamalardan oluştuğunun incelenmektedir. Çalışmanın konusu 31 Mart 2019 yerel seçimlerde Isparta belediye başkanlığına aday olan adayların Twitter kullanımlılarının incelenmesini oluşturmaktadır. Isparta belediye başkan adaylarının seçim boyunca Twitter hesapları üzerinden yürüttükleri siyasal iletişim kampanyaları sonucu aldıkları beğeni ve etkileşimlerin seçim sonuçlarına da yansıdığı bu çalışmanın varsayımlarıdır. Varsayımlar doğrultusunda sayısal veriler ortaya konulmuştur. Bu varsayımların test edilebilmesine yönelik olarak 31 Mart 2019 yerel seçim sürecinde Isparta belediye başkanlığına aday olan üç adayın resmi Twitter hesapları seçilmiştir. Bu tercihte etkili olan temel faktör yeni medya araçlarının siyasal iletişim faaliyetleri üzerinde giderek büyük etkiye sahip olabilmesidir. Bilindiği üzere yeni medya araçları siyasal iletişim sürecinde hızlı, ulaşılabilir, etkili, ekonomik vb. gibi birçok olumlu faktöre sahip olması sebebiyle siyasal iletişim faaliyetlerinin yürütülmesinde birçok aktör tarafından tercih edilmektedir.

Use of Social Media as a Political Communication Instrument: Investigation of the twitter Accounts of Isparta Mayor Candidates in the Local Elections of 31 March 2019

Throughout the historical process, political communication and campaign methods have changed constantly. Political actors have had to keep up with the changes constantly in order to carry out effective political marketing and have made an effort to attract the attention of the masses. This study aims to measure the use and effects of social media as a political communication tool. In this context, the aim of the study is to examine the political campaigns of political parties and their candidates, their political campaign methods and the stages of their communication. The subject of the study is to examine the Twitter usage of the candidates who were candidates for the mayorship of Isparta in the 31 March 2019 local elections. The political communication campaigns of Isparta mayoral candidates through their Twitter accounts during the election process, the likes and interactions they received are the assumptions of this study, which are also reflected in the election results. Numerical data were presented in line with the assumptions. In order to test these assumptions, the official Twitter accounts of three candidates who were candidates for the mayorship of Isparta during the 2019 local election process were selected. The main factor in this choice is that new media tools can have a great impact on political communication activities. As it is known, new media tools are fast, accessible, effective, economical, etc. in the political communication process. It is preferred by many actors in the conduct of political communication activities because it has many positive factors such as.
